13,000 students from Gipuzkoa, aged 6 to 11, will take flight at Ikastetxeak Belodromoan, discovering the adventures of migratory birds through the film Migration (Migrazioa, bidaia ahatezina) (2023).
From the big screen to nature: students will discover why and how birds migrate, the importance of wetlands, and the key role of the marshes around us along their migratory routes between Europe and Africa. Their guide on this journey will be Edorta Unamuno, biologist and ornithologist at Urdaibai Bird Center, who will bring the fascinating world of birds and the nature around us closer to young audiences. And every great adventure needs special travel companions: Ugaitz Alegria and Pepper, the social robot from the Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RSAIT) research group at the University of the Basque Country (EHU), will team up once again to bring science, humour and technology to this great celebration for children.
An initiative in collaboration with the San Sebastián International Film Festival, DIPC and the Basque Film Archive, under the motto “City of Cinema, City of Science.”
