Electronic and Magnetic Properties of Kagomé Graphene

The formation of Kagomé polymers with graphene-like properties has recently generated several studies on a various amount of 2D material with sometimes exotic properties such as topological phases, flat band structures as well as magnetic phases linked to the monomer structure. In this presentation, I will show different examples of materials that can be produced by an on-surface synthesis (OSS) approach that have promising electronic and magnetic properties and for which we also propose different approaches to modulate these properties. I will also show how the symmetry of the polymer building blocks is central to the control of these properties.
