Fibres from electrified jets - writing, spinning, spraying

The presentation provides an overview and a comparison of micro- and nanofibre synthesis by electrospinning and melt electrowriting; it will also touch electrospraying and 3D- and bioprinting. The heavily engineering and application-oriented research largely ignores the complex theory of electrohydrodynamics, but some simple considerations and results can be helpful. While electrospinning appears to work, at least principally, for any material, electrowriting is focussed on polymers. Nanogune's novaspider.com tool combines both techniques, and will be shamelessly promoted.
