Surface Science approach for developing materials and heterostructures for mesoscopic devices

As technology progresses into the realm of micro/nanoelectronics, spintronics, cryoelectronics, and quantum technologies, comprehending the mesoscopic properties of devices becomes imperative for unlocking their full potential. This presentation addresses the challenges in developing materials with specific functionalities in spin/magnetism or superconductivity, emphasizing the critical role of surface science. In the fields of magnetic and superconductor heterostructures, controlling the chemical composition and structure at the atomic level is pivotal. I will concentrate on heterostrutures combining Ferromagnetic insulator/Superconductor, mainly showing results on EuS and 2D magnetic dihalides.
