Exactly solvable quantum impurity model with inverse-square interactions We provide new insight into the Kondo problem by constructing trial wave functions and exactly solvable models. For the spin-1/2 case, we found a Gutzwiller projected Fermi sea wave function, which can also be represented as a Jastrow product originated from a conformal field theory correlator (quite similar to the Moore-Read construction of fractional quantum Hall wave functions). We also found a parent Hamiltonian with inverse-square hopping terms and also inverse-square Kondo interactions. The machinery developed here sheds light on how to construct trial wave functions and exactly solvable models for more complicated Kondo problems. Host: Roman Orus
