Condensed Matter Physics - Quantum materials, ARPES, Kagome metals, CDW, Magnetism.
Quantum materials represent an excellent platform to study the delicate interplay between spin, charge, and lattice degrees of freedom, which gives rise to emergent quantum phases in condensed matter physics. This thesis investigates the electronic and structural properties of Co-pnictides and the kagome metals ScV₆Sn₆ and FeGe via synchrotron-based techniques such as angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD), and diffuse scattering. In particular, we explore the changes in the electronic energy bands and crystal structures of these materials as a result of magnetic and charge-order phases at low temperatures.
