Every year, the DIPC and the Materials Physics Centre (CFM CSIC - UPV/EHU) organise visits for schools. This initiative aims to convey the appeal of a scientific career as a career option and to showcase the great scientific work being carried out in our environment in the fields of materials science, nanoscience and supercomputing, among others. Our centres are multidisciplinary, staffed by physics, chemistry, computer science and engineering specialists who actively participate during the visit to our facilities and laboratories.
Program of the on-site visit
- 9:30-9:45 Presentation in the CFM or DIPC auditorium: research fields of both centers, introduction to nanoscience and description of the scientific career.
- 9:45-10:45 Researchers show their everyday work in the lab, explaining different instruments and equipments, and providing a framework of their scope. You will visit three of the following seven spaces:
- Supercomputing Center.
- Nanoscience and Nanophysics laboratory.
- Polymers Chemistry laboratory.
- Quantum Nanophotonics laboratory.
- Nanomaterials and Spectroscopy laboratory.
- Quantum Beams and Sustainable Materials laboratory.
- Nanoespectroscopy laboratory.
- 10:45-11:15 Round table and Hamaiketako (midmorning snacks) with the scientific crew.
Notice: Activity with prior registration.
