Registration is open for the school sessions of Cinema and Science 2024
Frame from the movie "Mars Express" (Jérémie Périn, 2023)

Between January and March 2024, we will have the opportunity to enjoy the 7th edition of the Cinema and Science festival, an initiative jointly organized by the Basque Film Archive, Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC), and the San Sebastián Film Festival. Ten films, introduced by prestigious scientists from different cities, will be screened.

Cinema and Science 2024 programme

As every year, we have organized special screenings for schools with invited scientists in Donostia/San Sebastián, Bilbao, and Vitoria-Gasteiz. We will showcase the successful French science fiction film "Mars Express" (Jérémie Périn, 2023), with the presentation of this animated film conducted by scientists from the HiTZ Zentroa who specialize in artificial intelligence.

Mars Express (Jérémie Périn, 2023):

In the year 2200, private detective Aline Ruby and her android partner Carlos Rivera are hired by a wealthy businessman to locate a notorious hacker. On Mars, they descend into the depths of the planet's capital, where they uncover a darker story of brain farms, corruption, and a missing young woman holding a secret about robots that threaten to change the face of the universe.
