Results of the 2025 Jot Down Science Contest
The winners and finalists of the 2025 edition have been announced in its four categories: essay, narrative, illustration and photography.

DIPC once again supports the Jot Down Science contest, which promotes scientific outreach and creative talent across different disciplines. The winners and finalists of the 2025 edition have been announced in its four categories: essay, narrative, illustration and photography.
Essay
Winning text: El ánodo del mundo by Jose Antonio Bustelo.El código W
Finalist text: De venenos y neutrones by Isabel del Río.
Narrative
Winning text: El código W by Alicia Giner.
Finalist text: El mal geólogo by Francisco Javier Tapiador.
Illustration
Winning text: Elemento 74 by Amanda Salas.
Finalist text: Dependencia by Maddi Astigarraga.
Photography
No winner was selected for the photography prize.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Jot Down Science event, which this year will be held at the Laboratorium in Bergara on October 3 and 4.
The winners will each receive a prize of €1,000 and the finalists will receive an annual subscription to Jot Down and Mercurio magazines, along with a set of books.
The finalist works will be published according to their category: the essays and photographs will be published on the website and/or in the print magazine Jot Down, the stories on the website and/or in the print magazine Mercurio, and the illustration on the website and/or in the print magazine Jot Down Kids, depending on their characteristics and with remuneration in accordance with the usual rates, subject to the authors' prior authorisation.
The Jot Down contest and its associated event are made possible thanks to the sponsorship and collaboration of Donostia International Physics Centre (DIPC), the Canfranc Underground Laboratory (LSC), the Laboratorium Museum of Bergara, Menéame and the University of Seville.
