DIPC offers a complete PhD training program to graduate students from all around the world who wish to start a research career in nanoscience, chemistry, physics and related disciplines at a top international research institution. Our PhD students benefit from the dynamic international atmosphere and excellence of DIPC’s scientific activities as well as from its extensive outreach program.

DIPC’s PhD program offers a rigorous scientific training, a close supervision, regular scientific seminars, courses and colloquia, transferable-skills courses and outreach activities.

Our PhD students get involved in research projects within the framework of our research lines. These projects are often developed in collaboration with other research institutions or universities (co-supervised PhD).

We offer competitive fellowships through our own research grants and we also encourage interested candidates to apply for individual government grants.

We encourage and support the attendance to workshops and schools, as well as research stays in the framework of our international collaborations with research centers and universities worldwide.

DIPC closely collaborates with the “Physics of Nanostructures and Advances Materials (PNAM)” PhD program offered by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU); most (but not all) of DIPC's PhD students are doing their PhD within this program. All the information related to the registration process and regulations is available at the UPV/EHU Doctoral School.

The PNAM PhD program is integrated in the “Physics and Chemistry of Advanced Materials” European Doctorate opening the possibility of developing the PhD thesis work in close collaboration with any of the involved research groups.

No PhD thesis defense scheduled.
