Jakinaldia-Eklipsea presents "The Day of Two Sunsets", a round-table discussion on the 2026 total solar eclipse that will bring together scientists to explore the topic from different perspectives, combining research and public outreach.

Silvia Bonoli, an astrophysics researcher at the DIPC specialising in the formation and evolution of galaxies and black holes, will take part, offering a broad perspective on the universe and astronomical phenomena. She will be joined at the table by physicist and planetary scientist Jose Felix Rojas, who specialises in the study of the atmospheres of Jupiter and Saturn and in image analysis techniques and optical instrumentation, with a career also linked to science communication. The session will be moderated by Onintze Salazar, from the Basque Government’s Department of Science, Universities and Innovation, who will guide the discussion.

The event will be held in Spanish, with free admission subject to availability.

Furthermore, in Donostia/San Sebastián, we can enjoy the travelling exhibition of the same name dedicated to eclipses, which, after touring several cities, is on display at Tabakalera until 11 May, offering a visual and informative introduction to these astronomical phenomena.
