Latires exhibition offers us the opportunity to get up close and personal with the work of Ordizia-based artist Nisa Goiburu, a multifaceted creator who works in disciplines such as painting, poetry and sculpture, with a career closely linked to nature and geometry. Latires is an invitation to pause in ‘these times of haste and disconnection’, to stop for a moment to reflect on our essential connection with nature. The exhibition will be open to the public until 10 December at the San Sebastián Environmental Resource Centre, located in the upper area of Cristina Enea Park.
The program of parallel activities includes a meeting open to the public on Thursday, 20 November, starting at 6:30 p.m., in which Nisa Goiburu will talk with the theoretical physicist Ricardo Díez Muiño, director of the Donostia International Physics Centre (DIPC), a research center with a firm commitment to disseminating scientific knowledge to society.DIPC has participated in various projects that combine art and science in collaboration with entities such as Tabakalera or CERN.
In a thoughtful, entertaining and critical format, the meeting will help us to rethink our relationship with nature based on the complementary visions offered by art and science.
Latires brings together around fifty works combining painting, sculpture and narrative poetry. The poetic texts are by Goiburu herself and the naturalist and writer Joaquín Araujo, who has collaborated specifically on this exhibition. ‘Each painting is a call to life, to the pulses that run through us: the human heartbeat, the whisper of the wind, the waves of the sea, the sprouting of plants or the eternal cycle of the seasons,’ explains the author.
