The book Umberto Eco (declasificado), by Mayte Aparisi, is part of the DIPC Kultura/Cultura DIPC collection, a unique series of popular science publications launched by Jot Down magazine and Donostia International Physics Center.
In this title, the author explores the archives and the lesser-known facets of the Italian semiologist, engaging with the Spanish public from a proximity rarely found in attempts to get closer to the author of The Name of the Rose. Aparisi has intimate knowledge of Eco’s world and, rather than offering yet another biographical synthesis, presents a portrait comprising discoveries, cross-referenced conversations and materials that qualify the intellectual’s public image.
The author will be signing her book at the Madrid Book Fair on Friday, June 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Saturday, June 13, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. (block 27B, booth 295).
