As you have been notified, the DIPC courses on transferable skills (a new DIPC initiative), will start shortly. The general aim of this initiative is to provide Ph.D. students and Postdocs training on non-strictly scientific topics.

The inaugural course will focus on scientific Illustration and it will be taught by Willy Roa (Ph.D. in Chemistry and lecturer at UPV-EHU Master's program on scientific illustration). In this course, students will have the opportunity to get a hands-on formation on computer graphics, with a special emphasis on 3D modeling and rendering techniques. For more details, see the attached tentative Syllabus for the course.
The course will be structured in 5 sessions of 2 hours. The first session will take place on Tuesday, May 8th at 11:30 at the DIPC, and it will continue on a weekly basis with one lecture every Tuesday. The specific location will be announced soon.

Due to the hands-on nature of the course, the lectures will be limited to 20 students. Anyone in the DIPC community can sign-up for the course, but due to the limited space and according to the formational spirit of the program, Ph.D. students will have the highest priority, followed by post-docs and independent researchers.

In order to sign up for the course, please reply to this email with your name, research group and job title (student, postdoc or independent researcher).
