DONOSTIA INTERNATIONAL PHYSICS CENTER – DIPC (hereinafter, DIPC) and MATERIALS PHYSICS CENTER (hereinafter, MPC) are opening the application period for a position as Risk Prevention Technician.

The role

Job Responsabilities:

  • Management of health and safety documentation (coordination of business activities, risk information, etc.).
  • Coordination with the External Health and Safety Service.
  • Management of health surveillance, including medical check-ups.
  • Management of health and safety training.
  • Management of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conducting inductions for new joiners.
  • Implementation and monitoring of preventive planning and ensuring compliance.
  • Development and updating of health and safey protocolos in collaboration with the External Health and Safety Service and technical staff. 
  • Management of health and safety-related incidents.

We offer:

  • Full-time position (37.5 hours per week) divides into two part-time contracts (50% DIPC and 50% MPC) with the goal of regularly performing the job functions at both centres (located just a few metres apart).
  • Complete coordination between both entities for work hours, permits, and holidays.
  • Continuos working hours.
  • Permanent contract.
  • Gross annual salary between 32,000 and 36,000€, depending the profile.
  • Expected start date: February-March 2025.
  • Integration into two centres of excellence in research, with a multicultural, dynamic, and multicisciplinary work environment.

Desired background & competences

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in occupational health and safety across the three specialities (Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, and Ergonomics Psychosociology).
  • Experience in managing health and safety in an organization or an External Health and Safety Service.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks, autonomy in task organization and execution, initiative, and skills for interacting with internal and external personnel.
  • High proficiency in English and Spanish.

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of Basque.
  • Training in chemistry, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in health and safety management in scientific facilities.
  • Experience in laboratory work.
  • Experience in using ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in the computer applications necessary for the role.
  • Experience using management tools for CAE.

Working conditions

  • Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales

Selection process

Applications received by the deadline will be evaluated by a Committeeappointed by the DIPC and MPC management based on the following criteria:

  • CV of the candidate (30%)
  • Experience in the areas described in the offer (35%)
  • Personal interview (35%)

Evaluation results will be communicated to the candidates soon after. Positions will only be filled if qualified candidates are found.

To proceed to the personal interview stage, candidates must obtain a minimum of 45 points out of 65 in the CV and experience evaluation. Additionally, profiles that, in the committee's opinion, do not meet the position's requirements will not be evaluated.

The outcome of the selection process will be published on both the DIPC and MPC websites.
