The Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) is looking for candidates to hire a graduate in Science, Engineering or Humanities to fill the position of Project Manager on an exciting European scientific ERC Synergy Grant project, with genuine curiosity and interest in science and its impact on society.
The role
The selected person will be responsible for carrying out various secretarial and management tasks, in coordination with the research support areas of the center, including:
- Management and coordination of the ERC Synergy Grant Protos Project: Supervise and coordinate all activities related to the project, ensuring its correct execution and compliance with the established deadlines.
- Agenda Coordination: Manage the agenda of project activities, as well as that of the principal investigator, organizing meetings, conferences and related events.
- Meetings and Workshops Organization: Plan and coordinate the logistics of meetings and workshops, including preparation of materials, coordination of participants and follow-up of agreements.
- Website Management: Maintain and update the research group and project website, ensuring that the information is always up to date and accessible.
- Purchasing Management: Perform the administrative management of the purchases required for the project, from the identification of suppliers to the follow-up of orders.
- Outreach: Develop and execute dissemination and communication strategies to promote the project and its results among different audiences, both academic and non-specialized.
Desired background & competences
- University degree in Science, Engineering or Humanities.
- Previous project management or secretarial experience, preferably in the scientific field.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge in the use of computer and project management tools.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- High level of English, both written and spoken.
- It will be an asset to have a high level of Basque.
Working conditions
- Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales

Selection process
Applications received by the deadline will be evaluated by a Committee designed by the DIPC board on the basis of the following criteria:
- CV of the candidate (30%)
- Proved experience and its adequacy to the offered position (30%)
- Cover letter (10%)
- Personal interview (30%)
Those profiles that, at the discretion of the committee, do not meet any of the requirements for the job position will not be evaluated. Furthermore, a minimum of 50 out of 70 in the evaluation of the CV, experience and cover letter will be required to proceed to the personal interview phase.
The final resolution of the selection process will be published on the DIPC website as early as possible.
The DIPC may revoke its decision if the candidate fails to join by the appointed time, in which case the position will be awarded to the candidate with the next highest score, provided it is above 50 (out of 100).
However, the selected candidate may keep the position if, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, the candidate duly justifies the reasons why he or she cannot join before the specified deadline, and as long as the project allows it.
