On Halloween of 1991, humans and vessels are confronted by three raging weather fronts which unexpectedly collide to produce the greatest, fiercest storm in modern history – “The Perfect Storm”.
First Maialen Martija will give a brief presentation and after the screening there will be a question and answer session.

About the speaker
Maialen Martija holds a PhD in Physics from the Complutense University of Madrid. She is meteorologist and climatologist at Euskalmet and researcher in the Meteo and Climate Area at Tecnalia. Since 2022 she has been a lecturer in the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the UPV/EHU. She is an expert in weather forecasting, monitoring and its communication in audiovisual media and social networks. Her research focuses on the analysis of climate change models and the study of atmospheric teleconnections. In her doctoral thesis she studied climate variability in Western Europe and the influence of the El Niño phenomenon on temperature and precipitation in that region. In addition, she comunnicates science related to her research in written and audiovisual media.
