About the speaker

Javier Aizpurua is the scientific director of the Basque Quantum (BasQ) initiative and Ikerbasque professor at DIPC. Specializing in Nanophotonics, he leads his own research group in San Sebastian and has been recognized as one of the most highly cited researchers in the world. In 2022 he received the Euskadi Research Award. He has just taken over the management of the BasQ initiative that aims to position the Basque Country as a leader in the development of quantum technologies by fostering research and talent.
