Dr. Henry von Frankenstein is working on a ghastly experiment: to build a new human being out of fragments of corpses. To do so, every night he creeps into cemeteries to cut the parts he needs out of buried corpses.

The bride of Frankenstein - La novia de Frankenstein (James Whale, 1935)
After Dr. Frankenstein's monstrous creation escapes, the sinister Dr. Praetorius proposes to the scientist that they create a companion for the monster.

First Fernando Cossío will give a brief presentation and after the screening there will be a question and answer session.

About the speaker

Fernando Cossío is a professor in the Department of Organic Chemistry I and has served as Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations at UPV/EHU. Since 2009, he has been the scientific director of Ikerbasque. He has received numerous distinctions, including the Euskadi Research Award (2000), the Medal of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (2020), recognition as a member of the Chemistry Europe Fellows class of 2020/21, and, since 2023, he has been a corresponding academician of the Spanish Royal Academy of Sciences.
