Synopsis of the film:
In a distant future, after an apocalyptic war, the Earth is overrun by poisonous fungi and gigantic insects. Humanity has been decimated, and the survivors live in isolated settlements, barely managing to survive amid forests filled with toxic gases and mutant insects.

Guest scientist and format:
Ibone Ametzaga is the coordinator of the UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Development and Environmental Education at the EHU, and full professor in the Ecology Department. After the screening, there will be the usual discussion session during which attendees can ask questions.

About the speaker

Ibone Ametzaga Arregi holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the EHU, a master’s degree and a PhD from Imperial College of Science and Technology, and she is a full professor in the Ecology Department at the EHU. She has taught at the Public University of Navarra and the University of Vigo, and has worked at the NEIKER research center. She has spent time at the University of California at Santa Barbara and the University of
Oxford. She is currently the coordinator of the UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Development and Environmental Education at the EHU.
