In a near dystopian future, Japan’s government launches PLAN 75, a program encouraging the elderly to terminate their own lives to relieve its rapidly aging population’s social and economic burdens.
First Itziar Vergara will give a brief presentation and after the screening there will be a question and answer session.

About the speaker
Itziar Vergara is a family physician, Master in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley and Doctor of Medicine from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. Since 2022, she is the scientific director of the Biogipuzkoa Health Research Institute (formerly Biodonostia) where she is also the head of the Primary Healthcare Unit and co-leader of the Ageing Strategy research area. Her research is focused on the promotion of healthy ageing and the approach to frailty in primary care.
