Organized by the San Sebastian Film Festival in collaboration with the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) and the Basque Film Archive, children between the ages of 6 and 11 will be able to attend film and science screenings at the Velodrome every day during the festival. Every day, thousands of children will gather at the Velodrome to enjoy the film Alan giza-antena (The Alien Incident of Little Alan / Little Allan - The Human Antenna), an event that will focus on extraterrestrial life.
Throughout the sessions, the velodrome will become for a moment an improvised astronomical observatory in the company of the guest scientist Naiara Barrado-Izagirre, astronomer of the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU.

About the speaker
Astronomer Naiara Barrado-Izagirre has been working for several years in the Planetary Sciences Group of the Bilbao School of Engineering analyzing the atmospheric dynamics of Jupiter. She uses data from space missions such as the Hubble Space Telescope and probes such as Cassini, Juno, etc., as well as observations from numerous telescopes located on Earth. The astronomical images are gathered from professional and amateur observatories around the world and feed a database managed by IOPW/PVOL through its own research team. Barrado-Izagirre will be our guide on this cosmic journey that will take place before the screening.
