Thousands of girls and boys aged between 6 and 11 years will flock to the Velodrome for the screening of a film combining cinema and science in an activity co-organised by the San Sebastian Festival, Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) and the Basque Film Archive.
This year, the screenings at Ikastetxeak Belodromoan will delve into the mysteries of the forest to introduce schoolchildren to the fascinating ecosystem formed by its inhabitants, highlighting the importance of preserving ecological balance and biodiversity in nature.
The Velodrome’s giant screen will show My Neighbor Totoro (Totoro Auzokidea in Basque) with the participation of Nahia Gartzia-Bengoetxea, biologist at NEIKER, the Basque Institute for Agricultural Research and Development.
The film will be screened dubbed into Basque and will have Basque subtitles for deaf and hard-of-hearing people.
