UPV/EHU Science week, Zientzia Astea, from November 7 to 9 at Tabakalera
"Exploring the world of materials" stand.

The research centers DIPC, CIC nanoGUNE, Centro de Física de Materiales (CFM CSIC-UPV/EHU) and POLYMAT will jointly participate in the science week, Zientzia Astea, organized by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) from 7 to 9 November at Tabakalera (Donostia / San Sebastián).

Professionals from the four centers will present the stand "Exploring the world of materials" open to schools and to the general public:

  • Thrusday, November 7th: 17:00-18:30
  • Friday, November 8th: 17:00-19:30
  • Saturday, November 9th: 10:00-14:30 & 16:00-19:00

We invite you to come to "Zientzia Club", a show of scientific monologues aimed at all audiences with Idoia Mujika (CFM CSIC-UPV/EHU) "Dancing with microwaves" [EU], Ane Escobar (CFM CSIC-UPV/EHU) "who rules our body?" [EU/ES], Gabriel Molina Terriza (CFM CSIC-UPV/EHU, DIPC associate) "Diamonds are (quantum) physics best friends" [ES] and Paula Malo de Molina (CFM CSIC-UPV/EHU) "Folding proteins" [ES] and other science communicators. It will be held on Friday at 19:30.

The "Scale your world" workshop, aimed at children from 4 to 8 years old, will be held on Saturday at 10:00 [EU/ES]. In addition, this year we will be launching a new "Cosmic Rays and Elementary Particles" workshop for schools with the participation of DIPC Experimental Particle Physics group. Workshops with previous registration.

In addition, the exhibition Surf and Science will be open from November 6 to December 12 at Bizkaia Aretoa-UPV/EHU thanks to the collaboration with Euskampus Fundazioa, the School of Engineering of Bilbao, the Peña Txuri Surf Eskola of Sopela and the UPV/EHU's Directorate for the Social Dissemination of Research. This exhibition was created in 2021 by DIPC, the City Council of Donostia and the Chair of Scientific Culture of the UPV/EHU.
