As every year, DIPC participates in the Science Week, Zientzia Astea, organized by the University of the Basque Country (EHU) along with CIC nanoGUNE, the Materials Physics Center (CFM CSIC-EHU) and POLYMAT. This year it will take place from the 6th to 8th November at Tabakalera (Donostia / San Sebastián). Our stand on material´s science will be open to the schools and the public everyday. In addition, a special workshops for families will take place on Saturday morning .  

Stand "Exploring the world of materials"

With the objective of showing material´s science potential, we will perform hands-on experiments with amazing materials. Nature masters nanotechnology and is our main source of inspiration as we will show to the visitors. Researchers from the four centers will present the stand "Exploring the world of materials" open to schools and to the general public. 

General Public Schedule:

• Thursday, November 6th: 17:00-18:30
• Friday, November 7th: 17:00-19:00
• Saturday, November 8th: 10:00-14:30 & 16:00-19:00

Language: Basque, Spanish and English

Workshop "Scale up your world"

How far can our eyes see? What is the smallest thing you have ever seen? We will learn about macro, micro, and nanoscopic scales as a family alongside researchers from DIPC, CIC nanoGUNE, and CFM. At Tabakalera, we will collect samples like scientists, explore and scale the world through a magnifying glass, a microscope, and a home-made microscope that you will be able to build by yourself.

Age: 4-10 years (Minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Maximum of two adults.)
