The ability to coherently control atoms and molecules has generated numerous advances in fundamental sciences. Crucial to such systems is the capability to generate and distribute correlations and entanglement, key resources for quantum information and quantum simulation protocols.

In this project, the student will explore new control schemes for atoms/molecules/nano-particles using nano-structures materials. The objective of the project is to study novel trappings schemes for particles to use for quantum information processing, quantum ultracold chemistry, quantum simulation and metrology etc. In the project, the student will be introduced to the state of art research involving interdisciplinary topics.
