Machine learning techniques allow computers to build mathematical models from large sets of data and to predict the behavior of systems based on the constructed models. These algorithms are currently employed in many industrial areas and multiple fields of scientific research.
This internship project proposes to apply these artificial intelligence techniques to the study of the interaction of light with nanostructured materials and other contemporary challenges in electromagnetism. In this internship students will learn how to apply machine-learning algorithms to a variety of problems. Moreover, they will become familiar with the state of the field of nano-photonics and its applications.
