Internship

Type of Project: Experimental Project

Location: Donostia

Supervisors:

The quantum properties of solid materials and their electronic wavefunctions, namely the quantized electronic energy levels and their optical selection rules, are manifested experimentally in superconductors, graphene, topological insulators, Weyl semimetals, quantum spin liquids, and spin ices. In this project, the student will participate in several experiments of angle resolved photoemission in quantum materials like kagome lattices and 2D layered van der Waals systems in large scale facilities (synchrotrons). He/she will travel to ALBA (Barcelona) and ESRF (Grenoble) and will take part on the data adquisition and analysis. He/she will learn the basics of synchrotron radiation and will have the opportunity to interact with leading scientists in the field.
