ANDRE GOURDON

CEMES-CNRS, Toulouse, France.

Short-stay Visiting Researcher

Research Topic
Supramolecular assemblies on vicinal surfaces. Self-assembly of molecular arrays on solid surfaces requires both appropriate templates and synthetic molecules. Andre Gourdon is one of the finest molecular synthetists in the world, and collaborates with the Nanophysics Laboratory in the design and realization of synthetic molecules for one-dimensional assemblies using vicinal surfaces. In particular his work is focused on designs of new pyridines that are better suited for attachment to steps and molecule-molecule hydrogen bonding.
