CInema Festival for Children

Daily screenings for primary schools during the SAn Sebastian International Film Festival
CInema Festival for Children

The San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF), DIPC and the Basque Film Archive have been collaborating in recent years, combining two of the hallmarks of our city: its dedication to cinema and its great specialization in science. As a result of this collaboration, since 2019, we jointly organize the well-known “Ikastetxeak Belodromoan” sessions that are aimed at primary schools during the Festival. Every morning, thousands of boys and girls gather to enjoy  in Basque on the big screen. In addition, in each edition a scientific theme is chosen and a scientist is invited to make the presentation of the event at the Velodrome with the aim of promoting scientific culture among the new generations. In total, more than 13,000 children gather every year.
