Pride in Science

Three science centres organise Pride in Science Day.
Pride in Science

The Centre for Physics of Materials (CFM CSIC - UPV/EHU), CIC nanoGUNE and the DIPC organised the first Pride in Science Day in Donostia / San Sebastian in 2019.

These research centres have joined the international movement PrideinStem - Pride in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) - which for some years now has sought to give visibility to the LGTBQI community in science and to spread the message that diversity is also fundamental in science.

The programme of the first edition included two talks on scientific dissemination with an LGTBIQ perspective and a round table/forum for open debate aimed at all audiences.

The three centres are in the process of implementing their respective equality plans with a clear focus on diversity, in the hope that this type of event can be held in the coming years to actively contribute to breaking stereotypes, giving voice and visibility to the plural reality that we want for the future of science.
